Eva has a background in painting, textiles, fashion design and photography; the latter having taken over her main artistic expression with the influence of painting and other forms of art remaining visible in her work.
Having grown up in Germany, she brings a uniquely European sensibility to her portrayal of Australian Life.
A resident of Sydney for over a decade now, this sense of observing with a newcomer’s eye hasn’t left her and still informs her close study of its many nuances and details.
Her most recent exhibitions featured images of surfers and beach goers moving on the beach as mirrored in the wet sand.
The result is a collection of photographs revealing a deep engagement with the sculptural properties of the waves, the texture and layering of the sand, the atmospheric effects produced by shifting light and the capacity of the foreshore to act as a constantly changing canvas.
